Reminder about the weather:
Safety is the major factor when making a decision to cancel a game because of adverse weather.
For all divisions below Majors, the decision to proceed with a game is determined by the team managers - preferably at the field immediately prior to the scheduled game start time.
For all sanctioned league games for Majors Division and above, league umpires (or district umpires if applicable) must determine if field conditions are safe for play.
Since conditions change quickly and may differ greatly within our league boundaries, we encourage teams to plan to arrive for your game and then the managers (or umpire, for Majors) will determine if the field is safe for play. We have had days when the 5pm games are cancelled, but the second set of games were able to proceed safely.
There is always a Board Member on duty if questions arise, however, the league generally does not post information regarding cancellations due to weather.

In order to be in compliance with both with the Zackery Lystedt Law (HB 1824) and the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Act (SB 5083), we are requiring all players/parents to review the Concussion Information Form and Sudden Cardiac Awareness Information Form and sign an acknowledgment form indicating both the parents and the player has done so.
The acknowlegdement form can be found here - and can be submitted during one of the document turn-in dates.
Additionally, coaches and managers are required to complete an on-line training on sudden cardiac arrest and submit the certificate of completion to the League.
Until the State of Washington has its own training, it has been recommended that we use the National Federation of State High School Associations (NHFS) online training. The training takes approximately 15 minutes and is available for free at https://nfhslearn.com/courses/61032. In order to receive a Volunteer ID Badge, you will need to submit the certification of completion to playball@alderwoodll.com or bring it in to one of our Registration/Document Turn-in Events.
More information on both laws can be found here. Thank you for helping us keep all players safe!
Need to complete the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Course in order to get your Volunteer ID Badge?
Once you open the site - you need to click on "Order Course" and register with their site. Complete and send the certificate of completion to president@alderwoodll.com.
